I can’t see any sort of logo, thus I don’t know WHICH SITE is this. The background is way too busy. Ditch the live traffic feed – why you need this, aside from “aw, how cool is this”. Since GIGS is probably one of the most important sections, u need to emphasize on it. Social networks section is important, but now it is buried and way too faint. Sorry this wasn’t “pretty” feedback, like you asked for.
Thank you for your honest feedback, d-phrag. It’s valuable to have the advice from a full-time web designer, so I really appreciate it. I changed the background and removed the live traffic feed like you suggested. Also got rid of the Archives and Categories, since I didn’t feel they were necessary.
Congratulations on your new website. I really liked the evolution, however if you would have to improve some things, for example, I agree with what d-phrag said about the logo, you will have to design a good logo that identifies you from now on.
I think a logo would definitely be a good idea down the line, I just don’t see why I would need one at this stage in my career. Trust me, the thought has come across me many times before.
